He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as
he who helps to perpetrate it.
He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really
cooperating with it.

-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The hope of a secure and livable world lies with disciplined
nonconformists who are dedicated to justice, peace and
brotherhood

-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands
in moments of comfort and convenience,
but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

Volunteer Fair:  Milford High School 2:00-5:00

Taking inspiration from Dr. King’s vision of the Beloved
Community and the notion that “everybody can be great
because everybody can serve,” the theme of Service will be
central to the celebration of the holiday.  Following the March
On Main Street, there will be a Community Volunteer Fair at
Milford High School which will showcase local charities, non-
profits, projects, and dozens of other opportunities for local
citizens young and old to give back to needy families, network
with other volunteers in the area, and learn about how to
donate time and energy for the betterment of Huron Valley.
The Community Volunteer Fair, which will run from 2:00 to
5:00 p.m., is meant to encourage service throughout the year
so that the impact of honoring MLK Day will become more than
just a single-day event.  The HVMLK Day Committee hopes
that by offering many opportunities for service, from simple
beautification and maintenance projects to supporting local
charities and churches in their efforts, families from all over
Huron Valley will discover the joy and satisfaction that comes
with volunteering resources, time, energy, and effort in order to
make our area a reflection of the dream of Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr.
