Learn peacemaking and violence reduction skills that can be applied domestically (locally) and internationally. Opportunities to implement and practice these skills in teams will be discussed by The Michigan Peace Team & The American Friends Service Committee. Opportunities for people of faith and spirit to foster inclusion, justice and peace as part of their communities will be discussed.
This training is being offered FREE to the registered participants in support of the 2008 Huron Valley Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration. All participants receive the MPT Non-Violence Training Manual and the booklet, "Steps Toward Inner Peace." Lunch will be provided.
This training is experiential and participatory in nature. Participants learn about nonviolence and empowered peacemaking through exercises and role-plays facilitated by experienced and highly qualified trainers. Space is limited to 30 participants and donations are encouraged to cover costs of books, materials, lunch and trainers. All participants must make the whole training, to build continuity and community.
