You are a compassionate thoughtful person who would not want to harm anyone.
You also believe in actively working for justice, unity, and peace. You know that
you’re still learning, and need to continue to explore breaking barriers. How can
you: 1. Examine and resolve ‘touchy’ subjects or incidences? 2. Tell others what’s
really in your head and heart? 3. Not be judged, privately admonished, or
misinterpreted? Consultation is a model that provides a way to get at the truth for
all to see, and preserve the dignity of each people. This workshop will present the
Consultation Model, and provide an exercise on how to use it in ANY small or large
group setting.

Here are two truths and a lie:
- Saudi Arabia is considered one of the most liberal countries in the
middle east.
- All middle eastern countries require the practice of Islam.
- All countries in the middle east require women to wear head scarves
when they are in public
Do you know which one is true?
Come and explore western stereotypes and labels given to the people from
the middle east.

This workshop will introduce you to the nine Enneagram personality profiles, each having a distinct,
well-developed coping strategy for relating to self, others and the environment. A dynamic personality system,
the Enneagram provides a language that can underlie race, religion, nationality, culture, gender and any other
form of group identity. It is a powerful system to foster understanding of yourself and the others in your life, and
a profound tool to discover the commonalities that we all share. Jo Ann Weber, LMSW is a school social
worker at Lakeland High in Huron Valley Schools. She is a licensed, certified Clinical Social Worker who has
provided Enneagram seminars in workplace, educational and spiritual settings as well as in therapeutic
domains. Her professional expertise includes a practice of psychotherapy with individuals, groups and couples,
consultation with educational and community organizations, and teaching educational support groups.
Through interactive activities and dialogue, participants of this workshop will take a closer look at how they view,
think about and interact with people who are different than themselves. We will explore how our individual biases,
both positive and negative, can become stereotypes and how those stereotypes can lead to discrimination. We will
also create a "Diversity Map," charting the diversity of our daily environment and looking for opportunities for
inclusion. Craig Anderson is the Youth Program Coordinator for the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and
Inclusion, a non-profit human relations organization that seeks to eliminate discrimination and racism by working
proactively across racial, religious, ethnic and cultural boundaries. Through MRDI's youth programs, Craig works to
empower students and staff members in high schools across the metro Detroit region to create school communities
where everyone feels safe, respected and included. He has also co-designed and facilitated diversity programming
for a number of businesses and organizations.
