The Huron Valley Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Committee 12th Annual Art, Written Word, Performance Competition:

The Huron Valley Martin Luther King Jr. Day Committee has announced the details of its 12th annual MLK Day Celebration, including an Art/Writing/Multimedia Contest for area residents of all ages.

The theme of 2017’s contest is "MOVING FORWAD,EMBRACING OUR DIFFERENCES", and turn it into a new creative submission, whether a painting, photograph, speech, song, or another medium.

Prizes will be awarded in three age categories (11 and under, 12-17, and 18 and older), and submissions will be displayed at The Suzanne Haskew Arts Center (The SHAC) during the week before and during the March on Main Street which falls on Sunday, January 15. In addition, winners and other selected submissions will be highlighted during the march’s closing ceremony at The SHAC.

All entries will be judged based on overall quality and interpretation of this year’s theme.

 Submissions are due by Sat, January 7, 2017.
