The 2013 Huron Valley Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Committee annual Art, Written Word, Performance Competition.
All work should explore the theme of the event: "Honoring The Dream 50 Years Later: Observing, Inspiring and Celebrating!"
The theme is adapted from the following quote from Bernice King, daughter of Dr. King and CEO of the King Center, who was commenting on the significance of the 50 year anniversary of the speech: “It is our intention to make the 50th anniversary observance an inspiring, global and educational celebration, which renews my father’s challenge to create a nonviolent society in which justice, shared prosperity, brotherhood and sisterhood can flourish in America and throughout the world.”
Prizes will be awarded to winners at the march!
Winners & selected submissions will be displayed in front windows of Main Street businesses the week before and on the day of the event: For Feet's Sake, Main Street Art, Nana's Niche and Corner, Bling, Hoot, Your Netsing Place, and Legends of Time.
