2014 March & Art Contest Theme:

"The Power of Peace, Love, and Respect."

The Huron Valley Martin Luther King Jr. Day Committee will host a series of events open to everyone in the Huron Valley Community and the Metro Detroit Area.

Our 9th Annual events provide opportunities to serve the Beloved Community, while celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in a continuing effort to realize his dream as ours.

The HV MLK Day Committee is on facebook!  Please search “The Huron Valley Dr. Marin Luther King Jr. Day Committee” and like our page to keep updated.  Share our announcements on your own walls to help promote our efforts.

Visit downtown Milford to see the 2014 Art Contest submissions on display at For Feet's Sake, Main Street Art, Nana's Niche and Corner, Bling, Hoot, Your Nesting Place, and Legends of Time!

On January 20th immediately following this year’s March on Main Street, the Huron Valley MLK Day Committee will be hosting a Community Volunteer Fair designed to give citizens of all ages a chance to connect with ways to give back to their own communities.  We are identifying many community service projects, volunteer programs, as well as non-profits and charity organizations where people can pledge to donate time throughout the year.

Our Community Volunteer Fair will run from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, January 20th at Milford Presbyterian Church (located at 238 N. Main, Milford – corner of N. Main and Liberty).  We will have a concert from our main music performer, Josh White Jr., from 2:00-3:00 as a part of the Fair, and then time for participants to finish checking out the booths and signing up for involvement.

See 'Current News' page for more events planned.
